John Edgar Flodeen, age 92, of Janesville passed away at his home Sunday, May 20, 2018. He was born in Land O Lakes, WI on June 28, 1925, the son of Joseph Edgar and Lila (Byram) Flodeen. John grew up in Cadott, WI where he attended school. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a paratrooper. John married Caryl A. Helson on February 14, 1950. After moving to Janesville, he was a partner in Flodeen and Lynch Masons Contractors for 20 years. He was employed by the Janesville School System as a maintenance custodian until retiring in 1999. John was a long-time member of Faith Lutheran Church.

John is survived by five children, Dale Flodeen of Milton, Deborah (Kenneth) Hudson of Orfordville, Dennis (Robert) Flodeen of San Diego, CA, Susan Hendrych of Bettendorf, IA, David (Marcie) Flodeen of Footville, 10 grandchildren, Angie, Brad, Jennifer, Matthew, Michael, Erin, Casie, Chelcie, Tanner, John, 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Caryl Flodeen on May 16, 2016. His parents, two brothers, Lester and Richard Flodeen and his son-in-law, Jeffrey Hendrych also preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Church, 2116 Mineral Point Avenue, Janesville. Rev. Felix Malpica will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with military rites conducted by Kienow-Hilt V.F.W. Post # 1621. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 24^th at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville and at the church Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
